Affiliations
Partnering to Improve Our Community
Through active participation in the programs of affiliate
organizations and various initiatives of local chapters, Iota Phi
Lambda is committed to working to improve the quality of our lives
and the society we serve. Iota supports the programs and efforts of
the following organizations:
Iota Facts:

Iota Phi Lambda was
one of three sororities present at the first meeting of the
National Council of Negro Women, held on December 5, 1935. This
historic meeting, conducted in Harlem, was chaired by civil rights
activist and leader Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.

Iota Phi Lambda has
been accredited as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) at the
United Nations since 1935.
